XDA oggi fa il punto della situazione riguardo il porting di Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich sui vari smartphone che potrebbero supportarlo a pieno. Per ora ufficialmente a riceverlo saranno il Samsung Galaxy S II, S e Ace, tutti i Sony Ericsson Xperia 2011 e l’LG Optimus Dual, Black e 3D. I lavori per portarlo in maniera non ufficiale continua da parte di XDA e altri sviluppatori.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Stage: Alpha 1

Working:
- It boots
- Radio, calls, SMS
- Audio partially working (in-call is fine, playing mp3/ringtones leads to WLOD)
- Bluetooth and GPS seem to work
- WiFi almost working (“Can’t find WLAN0 device”)
- Mobile data (It fetches IP but disconnects afterwards, needs investigation)

Not working:
- Most stuff does not work
- Quite unstable

“Known issues”:
- UI is laggy
- Video recording does not work
- Video playback is not hardware-accelerated
- The front camera produces distorted preview
- Photo taking does not work with the front camera
- Movie Studio does not work
- FM Radio does not work
- Device encryption does not work
- USB Tethering on Windows requires the user go to to driver update and manually select the RNDIS driver
